Day 36: Lazy Day (6/30)

Today while Rennie was at work, I declared a "Lazy Day." We pulled out pillows and blankets and laid down to watch (can you guess?) Frozen. Lazy Day ended when Rennie got home but it was nice while it lasted!

Day 35: New Bathing Suits (6/29)

Like I said yesterday, all summer has been spent in the pool. Why not get some cool new swimsuits too?!

Day 34: Pool Fun Floats (6/28)

We have do nothing this summer but play in the pool! It has been so much fun. We found this little "jet ski" at Sam's Club. It's powered by a little fan and has a little squirt gun the front. The kids love it!

Day 33: Sunbathing Beauty (6/27)

This little ball of fire cracks me up!! I know I've said said it before {check out the post: Eisley is Spiderman} but she loves to copy her brothers and sister. Rallie did this first, Eisley watched and as soon as Rallie ran off Eisley climbed in and laid out. She is so smart.

Day 32: Day in Stroud (6/26)

This morning I texted Aunt Sami and asked if she wanted to run to Stroud with Rallie, Wes & I. We stopped first at Eileen's Cookies. If you haven't tried them, it is a must do and as soon as possible. They will be the best cookies you ever eat, just make sure you have a huge glass of milk ready. We then made our way to Stroud to see Nana and PopPop. They were working at their new hardware store, True Value. I think I will make a post about this soon.

While we were waiting, or more like to give Nana and PopPop a break from the twins running around the store, we walked to The Rock Cafe. That's were our pictures were taken. We had a good lunch, walked back to the store and visited just a little longer and then headed back the City. It was nice to just be with Rallie and Wes for the day. Gavin and Eisley were home with Rennie. All and in all a nice day out.

Day 31: Messy Eater (6/25)

Eisley's is one of our better eaters. Rennie made hotdogs and chili for lunch and I thought for sure no one would eat it. However, the kids surprised me and they loved it!! Especially Eisley. They all asked for seconds and scarfed them down.

I need to no regulate or second guess the things that the kids may or may not eat. I want them to try things and be adventurous when it comes to tasting food. I think I messed that up when Gavin was younger and now he's a very picky eater. Maybe it's just genes but I think that if they have the opportunity to try more food as kids they will be more likely to try different or new types of food as they grow older.

Day 30: Grocery Shopping for Six (6/24)

This is probably a little more than two weeks' worth of food. I wish I did better about going every two weeks but I get busy and just don't want to go. It's crazy how much our kids eat and I can't imagine what it's going to be like when they are full blown eaters. Right now they get smaller portions however they are getting bigger and bigger and they are asking for second plates. This food bill is going to be outrageous soon.

Day 29: Happy Birthday, Susan! (6/23)

We celebrated Susan's sixtieth Birthday. Rennie, Ryan, Taylor, Traci and I surprised her at KD's Restaurant for dinner and drinks. It was a wonderful evening out without kids. I always enjoy hanging out with Rennie's family. I did get the shrimps & grits and it was delicious. So good!! I can't wait to go back just for the food. Yum!

Day 28: Eisley's Fall (6/22)

Poor Eisley! Saturday morning we ran a quick errand.  Rennie and I were unloading the car, I unbuckled Eisley and let her roam around the car while I carried some other things in. Rennie opened the back door and out she tumbled! Face first onto the concrete. She's a tough girl. Eisley was the first of our four to go to the ER and she's also the first to get a black eye. I feel like she's going to be our strong athlete, who always has and injury but plays through. We shall see.

To take Eisley's picture now a days, I have to turn on the front facing camera so she can see herself. She likes to stick out her tongue and wiggle it. It's something she and PopPop do all the time.

Day 27: Happy Father's Day (6/21)

Sometimes we look at each other and ask ourselves how we ended up with four children. It's a long story and most of you know it. I feel like I tell it a lot, however in my defense it gets asked a lot.

Happy Father's Day, Rennie! I don't know what we would do without you!!

Day 26: Luke's 3rd Birthday (6/20)

Today was Luke's 3rd birthday, so to Tulsa we went. When all the cousins are together they have so much fun. It was a crowded house with so many kids it was so much fun. Everyone enjoyed the time together.

I took a picture but my mom's picture turned out much better. So I stole hers. Thanks Mom! :)

Day 25: Rallie's Bed (6/19)

We decided that we would take the front rail off of Rallie's crib this week. She climbs out the crib very easily so we thought we would save her some trouble and just make her crib into a day bed. She was so excited when she saw it. I guess she had to fall asleep testing her boundaries!

Day 24: Date Night (6/18)

Yea!! We had a date night. I love summers because I get to spend so much time with my babies. Sometimes summers drive me bonkers because I get to spend so much time with my babies!! I know, I am crazy but it's hard sometimes especially because of the all the rain right now. We can't even head outside to play or swim.

This morning Rennie let me know he planned a date for us. I was so excited! We went out to Hensley's Top Shelf Grill in Yukon and then to a movie, San Andreas. It was nice and relaxing to eat without rushing or getting up and down for the kids. I enjoyed coming home to the kids in bed, however Wes and Gavin where not sleeping so I had to work with them to get to sleep. It was almost a perfect night. ;)

Day 23: Big Girl (6/17)

First day, all day without a diaper. Rallie insists on wearing big girl panties! I have to say that girl's are much easier to potty train than boys. Wes isn't even interested. Rallie will be potty trained before the summer's over! She's growing so fast.

Day 22: Eisley is Spiderman (6/16)

Eisley watches and watches intently. If she sees Gavin, Rallie or Wes do it, then she must do it as well and just as good. She watches them play and as soon as they walk away or drop it she picks it up and imitates what they were doing. It's so fun to watch her learn and grow. Today Wes was playing spiderman and she followed him around and watched him chase and growl at everyone. She laughed and ran from him. As soon as he dropped it, she picked it up, put it on and growled at me. She crawled around and chased who ever would run. She laughed and laughed. I can't believe that we have four kids but I am do blessed that my fourth one was Eisley. Her personality brightens my day and she's amazing.

Day 21: "Gavin, piggy ride!" (6/15)

Gavin has learned to give Rallie and Wes piggy back rides. Throughout the day, one or another will call out for Gavin. "Gavin, piggy ride!" They will stand on the couch and Gavin will back up and they will jump on. Gavin takes them around the house and I hear them laugh and it makes my heart happy. I love that they love each other so much.

Day 20: Night out at Fassler Hall

This summer has been so much fun. The kids are all at a fun age. Eisley's personality is really starting to become known, Rallie and Wes are beginning to talk and learning so much and Gavin is a ball of energy. I haven't done much but hang out with them finding fun things to do, so most days when Rennie goes to work, Rallie and Wes say, "No, Mommy, bye-bye?" I love my kids but I need some time to myself.

So getting together with friends is such a blessing, tonight we went out to Fassler Hall in Midtown. I really have enjoyed moving back to Oklahoma City since leaving to move to Guymon. I love this City. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

This year is going to be so much fun because Sami is going to be working with me at Mayfield. Right now she is going to be the Reading teacher on our team. Tonight's get together was the first team Sam joined us. I look forward to this school year and I love that our teachers get together outside of school. It makes going to work much more fun when you work with friends.

Day 19: Uncle Garvis & Aunt Sami (6/13)

Aunt Sami & Uncle Garvis came to visit after coming home from their honeymoon. We had so much fun and I wish I would have gotten a picture of the kids with them but I didn't so I am using the Snapchat that Sam uploaded to her story. They came over and brought our {the kid's} favorite lunch of McDonald's and then we had nap time while Sami and Uncle Garvis told us about their honeymoon and stories about the wedding. When everyone got up, we went swimming and then had dinner. After all the kids went to bed the boys went outside to talk and Sami and I stayed inside. It was a fun day and I am so happy that they are so close!

Day 18: Sleeping Gavin (6/12)

Well at 9:45 am, Gavin is still sleeping! It must be nice and I wish I was still asleep as well. I've got a growing boy on my hands.

Day 17: Mom Diet Coke (6/11)

At lunch today,  I got a Diet Coke today that was for Mom. Gavin pointed it out to be which made it even better.

Day 16: White Water (6/10)

This summer since Rallie, Wes, & Eisley are all still under the magic number two (by magic, I mean free!), we decided to do the season passes to White Water and Frontier City. So around 3 pm we made our way for the first time this summer to White Water.  We spent two hours there and it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. I didn't feel guilty for only wanting to stay a couple of hours only because we bought a ticket for the day.

As soon as we entered, we headed to find chairs in the kiddie area. Rennie and Gavin went off to do the big kid stuff which left me with the three youngers. I am exhausted!! (That seems to be a reoccurring theme...) I thought the four of us would sit in the wade in pool and splash and play. NOPE! Rallie wanted to slide down one slide, while Wes wanted to play in the raining thing and my sweet Eisley wanted to do the big slide and the big slide she did, more than once.  I ended up running (in a bathing suit!) from one thing to the next, SUCCESSFULLY keeping tabs on three little ones in the park. Thank goodness it's an enclosed area.

Eisley is certainly going to be the death of me, either by wearing me out or braving the elements and scaring me to death. There was more than one mom ask me how old she was or comment on how brave she was being. Eisley didn't even wait for me to be at the bottom of the slide and she needed me to be a the bottom of the slide. They all had floaties on but unlike Rallie and Wes, Eisley has no idea how to maneuver with  them on. They are there more for me, so I have a tab bit more time to get to her if needed.

Later, we went around the lazy river twice, definitely Rallie's favorite part of the park. Wes and Gavin enjoyed it as well, Wes because he was able to swim fast and Gavin because he could touch the bottom. As we were getting ready to go home Wes summed up our time there quite well, "Mommy, pool fun!" with a huge grin on his face.

It was a great afternoon and now not so scary to take them back. Happy Wednesday!!

Day 15: Gavin and Eisley (6/9)

Rallie and Wes have a special bond, so it warms my heart tremendously that Gavin and Eisley have a special relationship. It's hard to explain because right now it's just little things that Rennie or I notice about them. I can only give you examples of things we notice.

When Gavin wakes up (which is usually later than Eisley) and comes out of the room, Eisley screams and runs to him, she hugs him and puts her head up to him for a kiss.

When Eisley wakes up from a nap and Gavin goes in first. She jumps up and down and babbles something excitedly.

If Eisley's crying and I can't get to her right way, Gavin is usually there to sooth her until I do.

When Eisley gets in trouble and goes to her room, Gavin follows her to comfort her.

Eisley is always included when Gavin is around.

When sitting on the couch the first place that Eisley chooses to sit is next to Gavin.

Eisley is defiantly the baby in our family and treated as such but she and Gavin have a special relationship that I am thankful for everyday.

Day 14: Cousin Love (6/8)

Rye and Cort came to stay for a few nights. Gavin, Rallie, Wes and Eisley have enjoyed it so much. We haven't done anything but play outside and go swimming. However, at the end of the day everyone is exhausted (myself included!) I did plan on going to the zoo tomorrow morning but I can't find another adult to go with me so I don't think its going to happen. Really the hardest part of it all is when its time to sit down to eat. Six kiddos eating together is something to watch, watch because that's all I really do. Then I go back and forth to the kitchen to refill plates and cups. It's been a nice few days. The kids have had so much fun!

Day 13: My Crazies (6/7)

This morning at 7 am my kiddos where asking for the pool. We wanted to get some work done in the backyard before we put them in and we could join them. I told Rallie, go find your goggles and then we can go play outside. She came back in her Daddy's arms both wearing their goggles and ready to swim. Rallie found this so hilarious. She loved it. :)

Day 12: After Swimming Sleeping (6/6)

Our new pool is wearing us out. This morning we went swimming at 9 a.m. and then everyone took a long nap and were back in the pool again around 4 p.m. It's been so much fun to watch our kids play in the backyard that Rennie has worked so hard on. They love being in the pool and playing with each other. Listening to Rallie and Wes encourage each other into the water and jumping off the side has been the best part. I think Eisley is going to be the bravest of them all! Gavin is learning to swim without his floaties and loves the slide.

I never imagined how much time we would spend together and in the pool and summer has just started. Tomorrow our cousins come over to stay for two nights and they will join us in the pool. It's going to be so much fun. The connivence of the pool has been so nice. I do fear the that kids will be too comfortable with the water and I worry about it constantly. They always wear floaties when around the pool now and I am trying to teach them to float without them, just in case. I never want them to be too comfortable in the water. I think having a healthy fear of the water isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just makes me and them more aware.

The best thing about the pool is that they sleep better at night and during nap time! :)

Day 11: Lighting Bugs (6/5)

Last night, Gavin's neighborhood friends were trying to catch lighting bugs and he asked for a jar so he could catch some. After an hour of trying he came in crying because he couldn't catch any bugs. I told him that tomorrow I would help him catch some. I told him the best time to try would be right when it starts to get dark.

Today, when it was dusk, Gavin came in and reminded me and we got a big jar. At first he wanted to catch just one but after catching on rather quickly, he decided he need four. I taught him how to catch them and put them in the jar. It was so fun. Rennie even came outside to watch and helped find them. We did catch the four that Gavin wanted and when we were coming back to the house Rennie asked Gavin what he was going to do with the light bugs and Gavin said, "I'm going to let them go." Rennie asked when and Gavin said right now. He opened the jar and let them out.

Gavin is such a kind hearted kid. He didn't even want to keep the lighting bugs in the jar for very  long because they didn't have food. I can't imagine any other kid working so hard to catch the bugs only to let them go minutes later. He just wanted to catch them. He amazes me with the thoughts that go through his head and how kind and loving he is.

Day 10: Matching Tattoos (6/4)

I have been begging Rennie for years for a matching tattoo. He has finally relented and we both got a 143 tattoo. Mine is shown and Rennie put his on his ankle. So you are probably asking what does 143 mean? It means I Love You: 1 letter in I, 4 letters in LOVE and 3 letters in YOU. It was something my mom and dad always used and I loved it so much I brought it into our marriage plus it's really nice when texting. It's how, at times, we say we love each other.

Day 9: Library Fun (6/3)

Yesterday, my friend and principal Tracy invited us to go to the Piedmont Library for music and fun. This was the first time we've done something like this and I was unsure if the kids would enjoy it or behave. Oh em gee, THEY LOVED IT. I am so thankful that we were invited and actually went. All the kids participated, even Eisley. It was so much fun. I can't believe it's already nine days into summer and I haven't done this yet. I will researching Mustang and Yukon library to see what the library offers there. I want to do this at least once a week.

Day 8: Bike Ride (6/2)

When Rennie works, I try real hard to get something fun done in the morning. This morning I decided (and immediately regretted) to take the kids on a bike ride. To do this I had to: get my bike off the hooks, get the large red stroller off the hook, take the tire off the stroller and hook it up to my bike, load and buckle them all and I hadn't even starting carting them all around. Luckily, Gavin was able to ride on his own. We set out into the neighborhood across the street, like I said I regretted doing this alone and on this day. It was fun though once we got started. My kids are pretty good about participating and going with the flow. Rallie, Wes, and Eisley didn't make a peep and enjoyed the ride the entire time. Gavin was having just as much fun. We rode around for a bit and then came back and had morning popsicles.

Day 7: Running Errands (6/1)

Rennie is so close to getting the deck done around the pool. He has had Martin over the last couple of days and one of our neighbors is an amazing help. Lee lives in our cul de sac and is so helpful with our questions on different projects we have done around the house. Today, he was helping Rennie while I ran to Lowe's (again!) to pick up some things. I knew Rennie's phone was inside and when I left I hadn't seen Gavin. I text Lee to make sure Gavin wasn't running wild in our neighborhood and this was the conversations. Like I've said, four kids can be overwhelming. :)
