Day 65: Wes' Allergies (7/29)

When Wes was young, he had all these skin problems. Looking back I fell so bad, it was all preventable if we just kept him away from peanuts. Today Wes had some contact with nuts some time during his day and this is the result. Poor baby. He takes it like a champ though. I think that's what breaks my heart the most.

Day 57: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/21)

Today, we flew out of OKC and landed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for five days... without kids. As soon as we landed we ate lunch at the hotel. It's a good way to start off a vacation.

Day 50: Donuts (7/14)

In our house, if you only eat the top of a chocolate donut, you think you are allowed to ask for another donut because the rest of the donut doesn't count.

Day 45: Spilled Cereal (7/9)

How does this happen to me? The cereal was on the counter and everyone was nicely playing. I noticed I haven't seen Rallie in a bit and I walk to see that her door is closed and it's very quiet. I open the door to see her quietly eating Fruit Loops off the carpet. She dumped the entire bag and was quite happy with herself!

Day 41: Lunches (7/5)

I can't explain the amount of food we use daily. It's going to be even crazier as they grow! I can't even imagine.

Day 31: Messy Eater (6/25)

Eisley's is one of our better eaters. Rennie made hotdogs and chili for lunch and I thought for sure no one would eat it. However, the kids surprised me and they loved it!! Especially Eisley. They all asked for seconds and scarfed them down.

I need to no regulate or second guess the things that the kids may or may not eat. I want them to try things and be adventurous when it comes to tasting food. I think I messed that up when Gavin was younger and now he's a very picky eater. Maybe it's just genes but I think that if they have the opportunity to try more food as kids they will be more likely to try different or new types of food as they grow older.

Day 30: Grocery Shopping for Six (6/24)

This is probably a little more than two weeks' worth of food. I wish I did better about going every two weeks but I get busy and just don't want to go. It's crazy how much our kids eat and I can't imagine what it's going to be like when they are full blown eaters. Right now they get smaller portions however they are getting bigger and bigger and they are asking for second plates. This food bill is going to be outrageous soon.

Day 88: Chuck E Cheese (3/29)

Aunt Dana, Uncle Jeff, Rye and Cort met Nana, PopPop and Busia at Chuck E Cheese tonight for some fun time. The kids loved it and ran crazy. I didn't get any pictures inside {you know busy with twins and stuff!} but I was able to snap this one outside. It was a fun night and Gavin really enjoyed it!

Day 85: Rice Cereal (3/26)

We tried rice cereal tonight. Rallie is definitely and eater, Wes not so much! They both need a little practice however I think Rallie will do fine. Wes may have to wait a bit, I don't think he's quite ready. It's funny to see how different they are!

Day 82: Rice Cereal (3/23)

Rice cereal is in our close future. I thought I would prepare with a box and new spoons. We are hoping that this will help get the twins through the night or at least sleeping longer than what they are now!

Day 73: Rallie Rolls Over (3/14)

Rallie was the first one to roll over! I was able to set up my camera and just keep it trained on her until she did it again. I am so very proud of her. She's a natural mover.

BONUS:
Today is 3.14 which is Pi day in math terms. So I made a homemade apple pie from scratch. Yum!

Day 52: Snow Day (2/21)

I received a phone call at 5:56 am this morning and school was canceled! Rallie was already in our bed and Wes wasn't far behind at 6:32 am and Gavin was right behind him at 6:44 am. The babies need a diaper change so off came their jammies and they received their morning bottles {4 oz each!} and on came the cartoons {for Gavin} and everyone was content. Even Boog who was enjoying a rare nap on the bed. So I had to get a picture! This picture will be a great keepsake for years to come and I will always remember the feeling I had when I took it: LOVE, happiness and contentment. I love my family!

Since I had the day off I decided to use it to get Wes checked out at the doctors. He has some bad cradle crap {I know it's cradle cap but crap sounds better} and some eczema on his face and arms. The doctor gave us a prescription for a steroid and then all this wonderful formula! I am so blessed! It was definitely worth the co-pay and the doctor's appointment.

Day 50: Growing Babies (2/19)

They are growing so fast and I am enjoying every moment. However, I am ready for them to be able to hold their own bottles! ;)

Day 42: Feeding the Babies (2/11)

Today, I went back to work.

I left the house early to talk to the babysitter about what Rallie and Wes like and what to expect, however I started crying as soon as Wes smiled at me while taking him out of his car seat. I had to leave or I was going to break down.

I've been pumping for a while. The babies like the bottle better {maybe because they don't have to work at getting fed!} So I pump most days and will continue to do so at work. It's one thing I do not enjoy about having a baby. I wish there was an easier way to give them breast milk.

I did make it through the day.

Day 39: Baking Cupcakes (2/8)

I've been in the baking mood every since Rennie "made" me make those peanut butter cupcakes. Today will sitting around I wanted to make another kind and decided on these Cookie & Creme cupcakes. They are made with Oreos {my favorite!} They were so delicious!

Day 37: Two Month Doctors Appt (2/6)

My babies are getting so big! I can't believe how much they are growing. It's amazing how lucky and blessed we are to have such healthy, perfectly developing twins. Rallie and Wes are in the top 75% for their weight and in the top 90% for height {even 95 percentile for Wes!}

It was scary to have two babies at once because there was twice as much to worry about. These last two months have been amazing watching two babies grow together and differently. I look forward to the years with these two little bundles of joy.

They are going to be such a mess! I can't wait!!

BONUS: Every time I go to the doctors I ask for free samples of formula. I asked the doctor and she brought me six cans and then the nurse came in and asked what was in the bag and I told her. She said hold on and brought me four more!

I can't explain how grateful we are for the free formula. The twins will go through one of these cans in 24 hours and we spend so much money on formula alone that anything helps. It is crazy how much these babies eat.

I wish that I would of realized that while I was pregnant and stocked up on the stuff like we did with diapers.

Day 34: Super Bowl Sunday (2/3)

My parents, Sami and Garvis came over to watch the game. We had lots of great food {my cupcakes included!} and had a wonderful time watching the game together and visiting.

The game was between the San Fransico 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. Rennie and I had a bet on the game and I was rooting for the Ravens to win. They did and I get a 10 minute massage! It was a fun night and enjoyed my family and the food.

During the game, Gavin got bored and decided to take some pictures of his own. I complied some and added them to the frame below. My mom and Rennie had more fun with it than Garvis and my dad. :)

Day 30: Peanut Butter Cupcakes (1/30)

Rennie brought home The Cupcake Bible for me. It was a wonderful surprise. After about two weeks, he came up to me and said, "I brought home this fancy cupcake book. When do I get a fancy cupcake?" I told him to pick one and of course he chose the peanut butter cupcake. It was so simple and even though peanut butter would not have been my first choice, they are really good. I love baking.

Day 16: Crock-pot Chicken (1/16)

Staying home has given me the chance to be a stay at home mom for a bit {something that I would like to do but alas...} I take care of my babies, done laundry and dishes, kept the house organized and cooked dinner.

Today I decided to repeat a crock-pot meal that Rennie and I have enjoyed. It's Swiss Cheese Chicken. I started it today around 11 and it will be done in 8 hours around 7 tonight.

I have enjoyed the stay at home duties and cooking dinner has been fun. I honestly thought that's what I would hate but have enjoyed it most {besides being with my babies!}
