Day 143: STOMP (3/14)

We meet my mom and dad in Bricktown tonight to eat dinner and then to a show. We had tickets to watch the production of STOMP. 

We met early to eat and then Mom and I wanted to try out Pinkitzel, a cupcake shop in downtown. I got a cookies and cream and my mom choose red velvet. They were soooo good. Thanks goodness we got a large cup of milk.

STOMP was amazing. I loved it. If you have the chance, you should definitely go see it. Its all music but its made with everyday items such as trashcans, sinks, paper and lighters. It also had some comedy in it. I could watch it a thousand times. 

What a wonderful night and a great way to kick off my spring break!

Day 143: Halloween Pumpkins (10/12)

Now when we come home everyday after school, it's not only the goats that Gavin wants to see but the pumpkins on Nana and PopPop's porch.

Today Nana was waiting outside for us when we got home and Gavin always enjoys running around outside after being couped up in the car for at least an hour. It's so fun to take him out of his seat and see where he wants to go: the goats, Carlos, or the pumpkins.

He has a great personality and it's so much fun to be around.

Day 139: Nana's Glasses (10/8)



Nana watched Gavin today and while I was working I got this picture message!! How can you not love this little boy. Nana said that Gavin loved wearing the glasses. It probaby gave him a funky view of the world. It's a great picture.

Day 125: OK State Fair (9/24)

I love Fall! I love the Oklahoma State Fair!

Last night we went to the Fair. There are two reasons I love the fair: the food and the crafts! Gavin got to eat his first turkey leg. I didn't think that he would eat it, he really doesn't eat meat often. However, as you can tell, he loved it!!

We left after school and spent most of the night there with my mom and dad.

I could buy every kind of food there but I just stuck with the good old basics: turkey leg, corn on the cob and elephant ear!

Gavin got a horse pillow pet! I love those things and there is an entertaining story that goes along with it.

Emily: "I think Gavin is getting tired. I wish we had a pillow pet."
Rennie: "He doesn't need a pillow pet, just a regular pillow."
Mom: "I think they sell the pillow pets here. I am sure they have a booth."
Emily: "Oh, that would be neat."
Rennie: "They don't sell pillow pets at the fair."
Emily: "Then if we see a booth, Gavin is getting a pillow pet."
Rennie: "Fine but they don't sell pillow pets at the fair."

The very next building we walk into was the only booth at the entire State Fair that sold pillow pets!! My mom and I laughed so hard and Rennie grudingly bought Gavin a pillow pet, but he got to pick the animal!

Day 120: My Mom Comes Home (9/19)



Today,  my mom came home from her two week trip with Grandma Schluge. After Grandpa passed away, my grandma wanted to get away for awhile and Mom went with her. They went North to Illinois, Indiana and Michigan.

One of my uncles have a place in Paradise, Michigan. Mom said that it was beautiful (with a name like Paradise, I am sure they have some high standards!) They travel to the shore of the Michigan lake and collect some beautiful stones.

My mom is forever collecting stones. She is so crafty that she is able to make the most boringest (is that a word?) look the most interestingest (again is that a word?) with a few stones or items she has collected.

It's nice to have her home again.

Day 74: My Mom and Dad (8/4)

This is such a great picture of my parents, Monica and Gary.

After I took it I said, "OK, now a real one."

My dad said, "What? Was that not a real one?"

Haha, so typical of my dad.

I love them so much for so many reasons. Right now, I want to take the time to say a, Thank You to them for all the support they have shown my family in our time of confusion. It's been a busy and hectic summer but I am so glad that I got to spend it at my parents house. :)

Day 39: Summer Nights (6/30)

I love that at 8:46 PM (that's a fact, because I checked the exact time when I took the picture) the sun still hasn't set. This is my favorite thing about summer.

During the winter, I hate getting out of school and having two hours before it's pitch black outside. 

Granted it is harder to lay down Gavin for the night but I would not trade the effort for the extra hours of sunlight.

I also wanted to include a few pictures of my parents yard:

They both work so hard on the yard. I never realized how much work goes into maintaining a home, maybe because I've never owned a home. They are outside every day working on something. It's amazing how wonderful the yard looks and how much they have to work at it.

I love the Babinec stone. I hope that one day, we can own a home and have a Nickell rock outside our home. The flowers bloom all summer making the yard that much more beautiful. The pond is something my mom has been wanting and working on for years. She loves the pond, I love the natural rock surrounding the area.

One day, my yard is going to be just as wonderful.

Day 37: Family History (6/28)

Almost every year, Grandma Schluge's sisters come down to Oklahoma to stay a few days. They came down during this week because on July 4th my grandma is having a rather large family reunion and they both wanted to be a part of the family gathering.

Grandma's sisters are Rita and Lori. They are my grand-aunts. It is a joy to come over and spend the day with them; what is just what Gavin and I did today.

In this picture, my mom made lunch and they all sat down to talk about family history. Mom has The History of Our Family book which she is determined to fill out properly and to the best of her ability. With "the girls" around the table she figured she can get a lot of family history.

It started out, who was born when, when and who did they marry and a lot of when did they die questions. It has turned in to a remember when session. It is so interesting to listen to them talk about the past and tell stories about the past.

I enjoy these days and I hope that Gavin will one day grow up and have the same opportunities to listen to remember when stories about our family and it's past. ♥
