Day 31: Visiting Tree (1/31)

One of my friends had twins and I saw this sitting in their twins room when we came to visit and I loved the idea. So I made one of my own. I had the canvas and I went to Hobby Lobby and bought two Sharpie paint pens {brown and blue} and then three stamp pads.

A few weeks before the babies were born I drew the tree on the canvas. I used my laptop and a projector and traced it from a tree I liked on the internet. I waited to add the names and the date until the day before the twins were scheduled to come.

As people visited us in the hospital and the first weeks at home, we had them add their finger prints to the tree. They also signed their name. I choose orange, red and yellow as the leaf colors because the babies were born during the season when leaves are falling off the trees. {My friend had green leaves but her twins were born in the spring.}

I have this hung up in the babies room and I love the way it turned out!

Day 86: Surprising Game! (1/25)

We used to have Oklahoma State Men's Basketball season tickets. However as the years went on and other, more important things {Gavin} came up we let our tickets go. We weren't that upset because honestly the program has been on a slippery downhill slope and it wasn't the same Gallager-Iba that it used to be.

Tonight, Rennie had a friend offer free tickets to the Missouri game. I am assuming that they were free for many reasons but one being that Missouri was ranked #2 at the time and we had an under .500 record. It wasn't predicted to be a great game.

We went for old-times sake. It's so sad to see a half full GIA and it wasn't nearly as loud as it used to be. However, it was a GREAT game!

The Cowboys pulled off an amazing upset!! I always enjoy a great game in Iba. I <3 my Pokes!

Day 33: OkState are Big 12 Champs (12/3)

The final minutes of the game and the fans rushing the field.

What an exciting night! As far as facts go Oklahoma University {ou} has dominated the Bedlam series. The record is 46-16-1 {now 17, thank you very much!} Nobody, not even Pokes are arguing that fact, but this year Oklahoma State is the better team. The Cowboys clobbered the sooners by a score of 44-10. It's an amazing feat with so much history against us. Oklahoma State has won their very FIRST BIG 12 Championship. Way to go, Pokes! We are forever proud that we won that game and in the fashion we did. It's fitting that the winningest team in Oklahoma State football history with a record of 11-1 was the first team to be Big 12 Champs.

Enjoy my pictures below because Rennie and I enjoyed the experience so damn much!
GO POKES!!

The new lettering! I heard that it was ready for the KanasState game but OkState waited until the Bedlam game to reveal it. Awesome!

The bands preformed a tribute to Budke, Serna and the Branstetters who were killed in a plane crash in November. They played Amazing Grace, it was a sight and sound to behold. Wonderfully done Oklahoma bands.

The fans taking the west end goal post out.
Rennie and I watched the fans storm the field and then pull out the goal posts before we made our way down onto the field.

My proof I was on the field!

Rennie posing with the new B.Pickens sign.

Day 11: High School Football (11/11)

It's Friday night {just typing that makes me think of the song by Katie Perry,} we don't have anything to do and as we are driving home we see that Carl Albert's football lights are on. We decided to check out a game. They were playing Ardmore in the first round of the State bracket. Gavin kept saying, "See football?" when he heard the cheers and the band.

He loved the game, the tiger, and the band. He danced most of the time. It was a great and cheap way to spend a Friday night.

Day 9: Blowing out Candles (11/9)

The house was cleaned yesterday and a candle was lit to make is smell nice.  We can not keep a candle lit anywhere in the house. If Gavin sees the flame he says, "Gavin blow?" over and over again. He couldn't way to blow out this candle before he went to bed tonight!

Day 6: OSU Football (11/6)

It's so exciting I had to post two pictures!

This is the highest ranking in school history. I am so glad that I get to see it and experience it. It makes for a lot of fun on Saturdays. I hope that we continue the streak and head to New Orleans!

GO POKES!

Day 1: Happy Halloween (11/1)

Happy Halloween

Well, here I am again.

Last year I only made it 156 days before I ended my project. I am a little disappointed that I didn't even make it half way through the year.

However, I had a pretty good excuse. We finally moved into our first home and wasn't able to have internet installed after the expenses of moving. I also wasn't able to get on Blogger at school because it "is against school policy." That is a paragraph to type out in of itself. I'll leave it alone...for now.

My good friend, Natalie, started her blog again the first day of October and I was jealous and envious. If you wanna check out her blog, Welcome to Graham Central Station, please do so and leave a nice comment. We "bloggers" always like those!

So I said that I would start mine again on the first of November. Sure enough, Natalie sent me a reminder {she is such a sweetie} and here I am.

I'm excited and find blogging somewhat relaxing. At least at this point, when I'm the first one home, alone and have all my master classes homework completed! But I like the idea of a timeline for my family.

I posted Halloween pictures for today because honestly how can I let these beautiful pictures of the boys in my life go to waste?

I look forward to {hopefully} a year of pictures! :)

Day 152: My Fortune (10/21)

My fortune was too true. I have so many dreams, that if only half of them come true I can truly live a wonderful life. (:

Day 145: And we are off... (10/14)

Whoosh softball went to Nationals in Indianapolis this year. It's generally an 11 hour drive and after making Gavin ride in the car for two hours every day (and most days ending unsuccessfully!)

Rennie decided that flying would be the best option for Gavin and I. The tourney started on Saturday and we left Thursday morning.

Gavin did well on the plane. The first flight to Dallas he played and read with relatively little fussing. The second flight from Dallas to Indy, he slept the entire way! Thank goodness for sleeping on the second, longer flight.

It worked out perfectly that his nap time happen on the second flight. :)

I was very lucky to have sat by two parents. They were understanding and helpful is Gavin was kicking them or laying out during his nap. If I could I would definitely send thank you notes to those special individuals!

And I have to mention that if it weren't for the umbrella stroller that my mom suggested I get for the airports I would have been frazzled and run down at the end of the day. The stroller saved my day!

Day 143: Halloween Pumpkins (10/12)

Now when we come home everyday after school, it's not only the goats that Gavin wants to see but the pumpkins on Nana and PopPop's porch.

Today Nana was waiting outside for us when we got home and Gavin always enjoys running around outside after being couped up in the car for at least an hour. It's so fun to take him out of his seat and see where he wants to go: the goats, Carlos, or the pumpkins.

He has a great personality and it's so much fun to be around.

Day 135: Fall Weather (10/4)

I love Fall weather. This is the first time Gavin has been in pants since he could walk. We have been buying a lot of sweat pants because I think they look so cute on little boys!

He has been tugging on the hem of his pants, bringing it to his knees. It's funny the things we don't even think about as we grow older! The idea of pants is a new concept to Gavin and he's experimenting with them. I put on pants every other day and don't think anything of it.

I love watching Gavin grow and learn. He is so smart and it doesn't take very many examples or showings until he picks it up! I wish I could record every second so I don't forget the small things.

Day 132: Daddy the Chicken (10/1)

On the way to Dallas, we stopped in at Target for a few things for the trip.

We are going to Grande Praire to a large flea market for the weekend.

We made our way to the Halloween ailse (like we always do!) and Rennie found this costume! He wants to be a chicken for Halloween because it somewhat relates to Gavin's costume. But I am not telling what Gavin's costume is, you'll just have to what to Halloween.

PS - Halloween is Rennie and I's favorite holiday! Looking forward to the Haunted Houses!

Day 131: LIVE ORANGE (9/30)

On Thursday this week OSU played a national televised game against Texas A&M.

It was an amazing game that came down to the last point! I love it now that we live close enough to go to all the OSU games!

Go Pokes!

Day 125: OK State Fair (9/24)

I love Fall! I love the Oklahoma State Fair!

Last night we went to the Fair. There are two reasons I love the fair: the food and the crafts! Gavin got to eat his first turkey leg. I didn't think that he would eat it, he really doesn't eat meat often. However, as you can tell, he loved it!!

We left after school and spent most of the night there with my mom and dad.

I could buy every kind of food there but I just stuck with the good old basics: turkey leg, corn on the cob and elephant ear!

Gavin got a horse pillow pet! I love those things and there is an entertaining story that goes along with it.

Emily: "I think Gavin is getting tired. I wish we had a pillow pet."
Rennie: "He doesn't need a pillow pet, just a regular pillow."
Mom: "I think they sell the pillow pets here. I am sure they have a booth."
Emily: "Oh, that would be neat."
Rennie: "They don't sell pillow pets at the fair."
Emily: "Then if we see a booth, Gavin is getting a pillow pet."

Rennie: "Fine but they don't sell pillow pets at the fair."

The very next building we walk into was the only booth at the entire State Fair that sold pillow pets!! My mom and I laughed so hard and Rennie grudingly bought Gavin a pillow pet, but he got to pick the animal!

Day 124: The Signs of Halloween (9/23)

At the front of Target, they have all their Halloween decorations at the front of the store.

Gavin didn't like this wig on his head, but it was too cute to not take a picture. We did find a costume for Gavin but I won't tell until Halloween!
