Day 75: Backyard Playtime (8/8)

Summer is quickly coming to an end. The days of being naked in our backyard are almost done. I don't know what they kids are going to have to do when they need to wear clothes all day. We started out in the pool, made our way to the sand box (best thing ever!!) and ended our time on the air plane. The sand box was given to us from a neighbor down the street, we add nice sand and a few sand toys and I can't believe how much the kids love playing in it. Whenever they make it to the backyard, they always end up in the sand box. We are slowly losing sand as well but I can't complain. They love it so much. 

Day 73: August Calendar (8/6)

So today we had to fill out our monthly calendar. As soon as we starting reporting to school there was just to many activities to remember between Rennie, Gavin and I. After I took this picture, there were a few more events to fill and I can only imagine what it will look like once school starts for every one. 

Day 64: Cleaning the Toy Box (7/28)

Why oh why do I do this to myself? I usually wait until they are all asleep to clean the toy box out but I decided to just go all in today while they were around. I immediately regretted my decision and had to finish it up when they went to nap. 

Day 62: Reunited! (7/26)

We made it home to these kids. I LOVED my vacation and the time I was able to spend with just Rennie, however I was so excited to come home to these silly kids! 

Day 51: Backyard! (7/15)

Well after a year of working on the backyard, Rennie can officially say that the deck and pool area are mostly done. He's done an amazing job! We are outside most days and as you know the kids are always in the pool. Don't you worry though there is still plenty for Rennie to work on in the back yard but I wanted to take a moment to show off all the hard work he has done. 

Day 38: Before & After (7/2)

We have a free standing pantry that we have painted this color green. The twins sit up aginst that wall and I pulled away the bench and it was so dirty. I think because it was painted tan it was really easy to see. So I suggested to Rennie what if I painted this navy (that's another color we have in the laundry room) and he said, "Why not that green on the pantry. It would pull at the two areas together." I thought what a good idea. So I did. I love the way it turned out and maybe it will had the food stains on the wall a little better! ;)

Day 89: Easter Eve (3/30)

We had a very busy day today. As a family, we ran to Stillwater to pick up the t-ball shirts for Gavin's team {games start Monday!!} and then came home and rode bikes, then Rennie and Gavin both got haircuts. Gavin even gave Rennie his! 

The Easter bunny came and left the babies a treat. No candy this year because he knew Gavin got sick at school eating too much candy and thought that he had had enough! Don't worry Mese and BR provided some more on Easter! The Easter bunny was looking for all Nike sandals but apparently they don't come that small. :( 

On a side note: just running an errand to Stillwater makes me want to move back every time. Someday we will move back to Stillwater. I feel as if that's our town! Love me some Stillwater. 

Day 72: A Morning Nap Together (3/13)

I love that they don't disturb each other. Sleeping together is something they enjoy. Thankfully this happens at night and when one wakes the other sleeps through it. We are very lucky that we have such sleepers. 

Day 16: Crock-pot Chicken (1/16)

Staying home has given me the chance to be a stay at home mom for a bit {something that I would like to do but alas...} I take care of my babies, done laundry and dishes, kept the house organized and cooked dinner. 

Today I decided to repeat a crock-pot meal that Rennie and I have enjoyed. It's Swiss Cheese Chicken. I started it today around 11 and it will be done in 8 hours around 7 tonight. 

I have enjoyed the stay at home duties and cooking dinner has been fun. I honestly thought that's what I would hate but have enjoyed it most {besides being with my babies!}

Day 8: Stay at Home Mom Dinner (1/8)

Not only did I take care of Gavin and the twins all day, but I also clean and sometimes cook dinner. I am super mom! I wish I could do this as a job and not go back to work. 

Day 139: Iron Works (3/10)

Thanks to my Mom and Dad for the top piece of art work. 

In the last two days we have added new art to our walls. The piece over the bed is a perfect accent for such a large bed. It fits perfectly and just our style.

The bottom piece is huge!! We used to have all sorts of pictures on that wall but we changed it up and added the art piece and our new family picture. It's the first picture from the left. I love changing things around in our home. 

Day 101: Saturday Night (2/11)

What a way to end a Saturday night...

...a little wine and an episode of 48 Hours Mystery. 

It's nice when my boys head to bed a little early and I have the remote and my DVR to myself. :)

Day 99: Carlos (2/9)

I guess it was too cold to lay on the on the ground so my fat hugh dog Carlos stuffed himself into the food bowl!

Day 88: Things that go Bump in the Night (1/27)

Does the punching bag look scary to you?

Of course not but how many times have I walked out of my bedroom at night and been started by it?

At least three!

Day 27: Christmas Season is Here (11/27)

My house is decorated for Christmas! I love this time of year. Each year we get two new ornaments. The first one is our family ornament. Gavin picked out this years ornament! Can you tell? :) The second ornament we get is a traditional ornament. Every year on Thanksgiving PopPop and Nana give all of their grandchildren their own ornament. This was started by my dad's father {my grandpa} with us. Each ornament has the year added to the bottom and put on the tree. It's such a wonderful tradition.

We also decorated the outside of the house. We aren't quite done, Rennie wants to add two more strings of lights to the steep of the roof. My project was the front tree. Last year we picked out the eight large ornaments at an after-Christmas sale at Target. Cheap!! I also ran five strings of lights around the truck of the tree. It was fun to do!

Day 25: Beginning of the Christmas Season (11/25)

We have our REAL Christmas tree up and our FAKE fire going. The logs are new and we just installed them a few days ago. That was a project that should of taken half an hour but ended up taking 4 hours and three trips to Lowes but it was well worth it. 

Every year we get a real tree. It won't feel like Christmas if we didn't have a real tree {for those of you that enjoy fake trees: my apologies.} The tree needs to "fall" for the next couple of days before it can be decorated. 

It's going to be a great Christmas season!

Day 23: Just Like Daddy (11/23)

Rennie decided that Thanksgiving break would be a week of getting things done. So he went out and got a carpet cleaning machine. 

Gavin of course had to be just like Daddy pushing his toy around like the carpet cleaner. 

He cracks me up!

In the video, he is doing exactly what Rennie is doing until he notices that I am recording him and then he just shows off! Turd!!

Day 20: My Bookshelves (11/20)

After years of dreaming, it finally happen: I have large beautiful bookshelves!

As long as I can remember I have always wanted bookshelves in my house. In fact, I've been saving books for years to put on my shelves. It has finally happened.

I love them and can't wait to add more of my favorite books on the shelves.

{PS I know that I have more books packed somewhere; it just a matter of finding them}

Day 7: Gavin Jump (11/7)

I came home from classes tonight and Gavin was waiting for me to play! In the hour that I've been home we have played trains, ate dinner, bumped bellies {about a hundred times}, tickled tummies, attempted a game of hide-and-seek, and jumped on our chair.

I am ex-huas-ted and it's only 8 pm. This time change is killing me! It gets dark way to quick for me. 

Our attempted game of hide-and-seek was fun. Gavin still hasn't quite got it right. He understands that the counter is supposed to close his eyes and count and then look for me but he doesn't get the staying hiding part! We are close but it is fun to watch him develop.

He loves his chair and jumping onto the cushion. He likes to ask {repeatedly} "Gavin jump?" and then I have to say, "Yes" and be watching and then he jumps to the cushion. 

Love this boy.
