Day 120: Outside Playing (4/30)

 

The weather had been crappy and cold this spring. Finally a day has come that we can go outside and enjoy the weather. The babies went out in their diapers and enjoyed the sun and wind on their sink. Gavin and I played kick ball. It was so beautiful!!

 

The last picture is of Gavin eating. My picky eater won't eat much but he will eat a hot dog rapped in baloney. "Mom, it's like a taco!"

Day 100: Ice in April (4/10)

This is happening IN APRIL! I don't understand the weather here in Oklahoma sometimes. Yesterday it was 80 degrees {no lie!} and that afternoon we had a 20 degree drop in tempature and freezing rain last night. This didn't even happen overnight; this happen during the day. There are no windows in my library and when I went out to do after school duty there was ice on the trees. I was so surprised. Oklahoma weather is CRAZY!

Day 54: Softball (2/23)

The first softball game since I was pregnant with the babies back in April 2012. It was so cold but we packed up the entire family and headed to the fields. The babies made it through exactly ONE game before they headed home with Rennie. {I was playing on a women's team.} Gavin stayed with me throughout the day and crashed around 4 for a two hour nap in the bleachers. I really like the idea of my children growing up at the softball fields. However, I think that I am done playing for a while. With three kids {two babies} it's just hard to find someone to watch them on the weekends and I want to spend my weekend time with them instead of trying to juggle playing and watching the kids. We will see what happens this summer. 

Day 52: Snow Day (2/21)

I received a phone call at 5:56 am this morning and school was canceled! Rallie was already in our bed and Wes wasn't far behind at 6:32 am and Gavin was right behind him at 6:44 am. The babies need a diaper change so off came their jammies and they received their morning bottles {4 oz each!} and on came the cartoons {for Gavin} and everyone was content. Even Boog who was enjoying a rare nap on the bed. So I had to get a picture! This picture will be a great keepsake for years to come and I will always remember the feeling I had when I took it: LOVE, happiness and contentment. I love my family!

Since I had the day off I decided to use it to get Wes checked out at the doctors. He has some bad cradle crap {I know it's cradle cap but crap sounds better} and some eczema on his face and arms. The doctor gave us a prescription for a steroid and then all this wonderful formula! I am so blessed! It was definitely worth the co-pay and the doctor's appointment. 

Day 43: Snow Fall (2/12)

It was the first snow fall of the year and most likely the last. I wonder if we will have a snow day tomorrow? I doubt it. 

Gavin was so excited to go out and play. 

Day 15: Steam Room (1/15)

The babies have been stuffed up and having trouble breathing. We don't have a humidifier {yet!} but I decided to turn on the shower and use it as a steam room. 

They loved it!! And were upset when we finished but it definitely helped with the stuffiness. 

Day 184: OKC Bricktown (4/24)

Rennie is going to the Thunder game tonight. Gavin and I went into Bricktown to eat dinner with him. We ate at Hooters and on the way back to the car {at Bass Pro Shop!} we stopped by the canal and the water fountain. Again what a wonderful way to spend an evening after school. 

Day 183: Finally Outside! (4/23)

After a winter of having the trampoline inside, Rennie was finally able to break it down and take it outside. Oklahoma has had such beautiful weather that we've been outside everyday this week. Gavin loves jumping outside.

Day 135: Fall Weather (10/4)

I love Fall weather. This is the first time Gavin has been in pants since he could walk. We have been buying a lot of sweat pants because I think they look so cute on little boys!

He has been tugging on the hem of his pants, bringing it to his knees. It's funny the things we don't even think about as we grow older! The idea of pants is a new concept to Gavin and he's experimenting with them. I put on pants every other day and don't think anything of it.

I love watching Gavin grow and learn. He is so smart and it doesn't take very many examples or showings until he picks it up! I wish I could record every second so I don't forget the small things.

Can you believe it? I can, I lived it!

Can you imagine it? Don't, it's like hell.

The weather here is ridiculous. No one wants to be outside. You just end up running (well walking quickly, if you ran you would be a dripping hot mess) from car to building, building to car.

One word:

Disgusting

Day 62: Float Trip (7/23)

Oh man, has it been a busy weekend!

It started out on Friday morning at 5:45 AM! We left for the Illinois River for a float trip. We only decieded to float 6 miles because we didn't want tit to be a full day of floating. I mean you can only float for so long before it just gets boring!

It was fun! I haven't done floated since Rennie and I have married and I missed it! It's so much fun and the river was high so we didn't have to get out of the raft often to drag it across the rocks.

Even though we only floated 6 miles we were still exhausted but its a great way to spend the day.

Then from there I had a job interview (keep your fingers crossed) and then to Enid to play some softball!!

Day 35: Softball Summer Heat (6/26)

Oklahoma weather is so extreme. Today we played softball (surprise, surprise!), our tournament started at 4 o'clock in the afternoon but that did not mean that it was so dang hot!! It was the most miserable softball weather that I can remember -- and I've played a lot of softball.

It was so hot that as a team we all pitched in to buy a canopy that will be used at every tournament. Just a little shade makes such a huge difference.

I started playing in pants but didn't even make it 15 minutes out of the truck before I had to change into shorts.

We did win the tournament, run-ruled all the teams we played today. It was a lot of fun.

Day 23: Rain, Rain Go Away (6/14)

It's been raining here for hours. It's predicted to continue for the next three days. The water is calf deep on the rock path. The path doesn't usually collect water.

We didn't get as much rain as Oklahoma City. They received 10+ inches of rain within a few hours. They have had a flash flood warnings all morning and rescue crews working endlessly to help residents out of their homes.
