Day 83: Floating the River (8/16)

Away we go! It was fun. Gavin I knew wasn't any problem, he enjoyed himself so much. Rallie loved it just as much. She wanted to be in the water more than in the raft. It was fun and a nice way to spend the day. It was perfect weather, not to hot and the water was cool. We had good snacks and fun times!

Day 82: Camping Out (8/15)

The Babinec family has decided to spend the weekend out in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The Illinois River runs through that part and it's perfect for floating. We have always stayed in the cabins but this time we were a little late in deciding to go and only tent camping was available. Luckily, every fame had a tent and it was fun. We had hobo dinners and s'mores for dinner. Only Gavin, Rallie, and I went this time. Eisley is still way to young and I don't think I could have handled three by myself so I only took the two oldest. It was nice and I know next year, we can all do it. Tomorrow, we float!

Day 73: August Calendar (8/6)

So today we had to fill out our monthly calendar. As soon as we starting reporting to school there was just to many activities to remember between Rennie, Gavin and I. After I took this picture, there were a few more events to fill and I can only imagine what it will look like once school starts for every one. 

Day 68: True Value Grand Re-Opening (8/1)

Today, my parents had a Grand Re-Opening at their True Value hardware store. They had free hot dogs, bottle water, some give aways and a chance to win big prices. All the girls showed up with all the kiddos. Grandma and Grandpa Babinec also made it down to visit and see the store! It was so much fun. PopPop was a little stressed with all nine grandkids running around the store but it all worked out. It was so nice to visit with family and promote my mom and dad's new store. 

Day 47: Uber (7/11)

Over the summer I always say I am going to get a part time job. This is the first time I actually did. Rennie and I both Uber. Ubering is kind of like driving a taxi. We have an app that we open anytime we want to work and riders around OKC and it's suburbs can ping (which means to request a ride) us and we drive to their location pick them up and take them to their requested destination. We use our suburban, so we are able to take larger groups which makes us more money. You read all about Uber at https://www.uber.com. It's a lot of fun and makes us a nice bit of extra money over the summer. 

I picked up Allisha tonight. She's the one that taught us about Uber when we were down in Austin for Sam's bachelorette party. I enjoyed it!!

Day 46: Family Pictures (7/10)

Today, we took family pictures!! I loved how they turned out. We went downtown and met April Belt there early Friday morning. April is a friend from Mayfield. The kids did well and so far all I've seen is the previews but I'm very excited to see the rest!

Day 30: Grocery Shopping for Six (6/24)

This is probably a little more than two weeks' worth of food. I wish I did better about going every two weeks but I get busy and just don't want to go. It's crazy how much our kids eat and I can't imagine what it's going to be like when they are full blown eaters. Right now they get smaller portions however they are getting bigger and bigger and they are asking for second plates. This food bill is going to be outrageous soon. 

Day 16: White Water (6/10)

This summer since Rallie, Wes, & Eisley are all still under the magic number two (by magic, I mean free!), we decided to do the season passes to White Water and Frontier City. So around 3 pm we made our way for the first time this summer to White Water.  We spent two hours there and it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. I didn't feel guilty for only wanting to stay a couple of hours only because we bought a ticket for the day.

As soon as we entered, we headed to find chairs in the kiddie area. Rennie and Gavin went off to do the big kid stuff which left me with the three youngers. I am exhausted!! (That seems to be a reoccurring theme...) I thought the four of us would sit in the wade in pool and splash and play. NOPE! Rallie wanted to slide down one slide, while Wes wanted to play in the raining thing and my sweet Eisley wanted to do the big slide and the big slide she did, more than once.  I ended up running (in a bathing suit!) from one thing to the next, SUCCESSFULLY keeping tabs on three little ones in the park. Thank goodness it's an enclosed area. 

Eisley is certainly going to be the death of me, either by wearing me out or braving the elements and scaring me to death. There was more than one mom ask me how old she was or comment on how brave she was being. Eisley didn't even wait for me to be at the bottom of the slide and she needed me to be a the bottom of the slide. They all had floaties on but unlike Rallie and Wes, Eisley has no idea how to maneuver with  them on. They are there more for me, so I have a tab bit more time to get to her if needed. 

Later, we went around the lazy river twice, definitely Rallie's favorite part of the park. Wes and Gavin enjoyed it as well, Wes because he was able to swim fast and Gavin because he could touch the bottom. As we were getting ready to go home Wes summed up our time there quite well, "Mommy, pool fun!" with a huge grin on his face. 

It was a great afternoon and now not so scary to take them back. Happy Wednesday!!

Day 14: Cousin Love (6/8)

Rye and Cort came to stay for a few nights. Gavin, Rallie, Wes and Eisley have enjoyed it so much. We haven't done anything but play outside and go swimming. However, at the end of the day everyone is exhausted (myself included!) I did plan on going to the zoo tomorrow morning but I can't find another adult to go with me so I don't think its going to happen. Really the hardest part of it all is when its time to sit down to eat. Six kiddos eating together is something to watch, watch because that's all I really do. Then I go back and forth to the kitchen to refill plates and cups. It's been a nice few days. The kids have had so much fun!

Day 125: Busy Sunday! (5/5)

 

 

 

 

Aunt Dana, Rye, Cort, Nana and PopPop surprised us by coming to Gavin's game this Sunday. We had lots of fun visiting and Gavin even ran real hard for them!

 

The twins looked so adorable in their Thunder onesies I had to add a picture of them too.

Day 118: OKC Memorial Marathon (4/28)

 

Today was the OKC Memorial Marathon. It has become a family tradition now {if you count the last three years as a tradition!} to all particiapate some how in the marathon.

 

The last two years, Rennie has ran the half marathon {13.1 miles.} This year he ran the full marathon, 23.2 miles! He did it in under 5 hours! Way to go, baby!!

 

Aunt Sami, Gavin, the twins and I all walked the 5K. It kinda was a disaster and if I didn't pay for it I probably would of quit half way through. At one point, we were dead last! {That's the picture with the cop behind us!} And then Gavin did not want to get out of the stroller and cried when he did. The twins didn't want to be in the stroller and cried when they were! It was exhausting but totally worth it to see Rennie cross the finish line. Plus this was the first year that it wasn't raining on us, the weather was beautiful!

Day 90: Happy Easter (3/31)

HAPPY EASTER!

Thank goodness, the Easter bunny didn't bring candy! Gavin had enough energy without adding a sugar high to it as well. Church was difficult to say the least and then heading to the Cowboy Hall of Fame for bunch might have been a disaster if we were a little more high strung. Gavin is just a little hard to handle these days and I know it's because he's trying to figure out going from only child to one of three but some days I just wanna scream and shake him! However, after settling down to eat we had a very enjoyable brunch with our families. I really love getting dressed up for Easter and then going out to eat with my family somewhere "fancy." It was a really nice morning. 

We came home and opened up all the windows and doors {finally!} and did a little weekend cleaning. Overall, not a bad Easter. Loving my life!

Day 89: Easter Eve (3/30)

We had a very busy day today. As a family, we ran to Stillwater to pick up the t-ball shirts for Gavin's team {games start Monday!!} and then came home and rode bikes, then Rennie and Gavin both got haircuts. Gavin even gave Rennie his! 

The Easter bunny came and left the babies a treat. No candy this year because he knew Gavin got sick at school eating too much candy and thought that he had had enough! Don't worry Mese and BR provided some more on Easter! The Easter bunny was looking for all Nike sandals but apparently they don't come that small. :( 

On a side note: just running an errand to Stillwater makes me want to move back every time. Someday we will move back to Stillwater. I feel as if that's our town! Love me some Stillwater. 

Day 88: Chuck E Cheese (3/29)

Aunt Dana, Uncle Jeff, Rye and Cort met Nana, PopPop and Busia at Chuck E Cheese tonight for some fun time. The kids loved it and ran crazy. I didn't get any pictures inside {you know busy with twins and stuff!} but I was able to snap this one outside. It was a fun night and Gavin really enjoyed it!

Day 76: Dallas Day Two (3/17)

Rennie's favorite place to go in Dallas in the Traders Village. It's like. Huge flea market. I really enjoy it too. This year we tinted the van window, fixed the scratch that I put in the side of the van, bought one of the most awesomest stroller, and a few other knick-knacks. This stroller can hook to the back of a bike so we can take the twins on a bike ride. Gavin sits in a seat on the back of Rennie's bike. {I'm sure there will be pictures of that this summer!}

Overall, a pretty good trip down to Dallas. We wanted to go to Ikea but we were exhausted after Trader's Village. Can't wait until next time!

Day 75: Dallas Day One (3/16)

For our spring break getaway we drove down to Dallas for the weekend. We left Friday night and started our day bright and early at the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park. We met some friends who live in the area, that also have twins! It was a great place to visit. I would of just gone to pet the sting ray! I was a lot of fun.

After that we all grabbed lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, then headed over to SouthFork Ranch.

When Rennie was younger he used to watch the TV show Dallas. Actually my mom and dad watched it too, it was "must see TV" before everything was must see! My mom and dad told me they would have people over as a watch party with food just for the show. It was great TV.

Now years later they have restarted Dallas with a few of the main characters and a lot of news ones. I have been watching it and have enjoyed it. So when we went down to Dallas we toured SouthFork. It was actually kinda cool to see. I really liked it. 

We even got to meet a TV star. The actress that plays the wife of Bobby Ewing, Ann was in the gift shop. Her real name is Brenda Strong. She was gracious enough to take pictures with us all. 

It really was a great day. 

Day 69: Playing & Sleeping on Sunday (8/10)

This what our Sundays are beginning to look like: everyone hanging out in the living room playing or sleeping. At least we are all together and I wouldn't change it for anything. 

Day 52: Snow Day (2/21)

I received a phone call at 5:56 am this morning and school was canceled! Rallie was already in our bed and Wes wasn't far behind at 6:32 am and Gavin was right behind him at 6:44 am. The babies need a diaper change so off came their jammies and they received their morning bottles {4 oz each!} and on came the cartoons {for Gavin} and everyone was content. Even Boog who was enjoying a rare nap on the bed. So I had to get a picture! This picture will be a great keepsake for years to come and I will always remember the feeling I had when I took it: LOVE, happiness and contentment. I love my family!

Since I had the day off I decided to use it to get Wes checked out at the doctors. He has some bad cradle crap {I know it's cradle cap but crap sounds better} and some eczema on his face and arms. The doctor gave us a prescription for a steroid and then all this wonderful formula! I am so blessed! It was definitely worth the co-pay and the doctor's appointment.
