Day 174: Quail Springs Mall (4/14)

First off:

Happy 5th Wedding Anniversary to Us!

We didn't do anything special for the day; just dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse. Yum!! We have planned a trip to Playa de Carmen in June for our anniversary. I look forward to June!

We actually spent most of the day apart. Sami and Garvis were in town. Rennie and Garvis helped some friends of our move in the morning and then spent the rest of the day working on the bus.

Sami and I went to Quail Springs mall. I spent some time in the play-place with Gavin. :) It's one of his favorite thins to do at the mall.

Day 122: The Little Things In Life (2/22)

This week Rennie talked me into throwing ALL my socks away and buying two new packs. I also went bra shopping, it's sad I can't remember the last time I bought a bra. {Don't judge!} So after all these new purchases I cleaned out my draws and organized them.

Like I said, it's the little things in life that make me happy. :)

Day 71: Walmart Lines (1/10)

If I didn't need my medicine tonight, I would not be standing in this pharmacy line in Walmart. This was ridiculous!!

Day 50: Finished Christmas Shopping (12/20)

When Rennie and I got married our traditions had to become one. We needed to take the things that we did with our own families and mold it into what works for Rennie, me and now Gavin. It's difficult because we are both compromising and changing the ways we did things in the past. However, I think that we did well when it comes to Christmas traditions at the Nickell house.

On Christmas Eve, we eat dinner with Rennie's mom and family. The three of us come back to our house and open gifts from each other. Rennie gets things for me and I for him and then as Mommy and Daddy we get gift for Gavin which he opens Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning, Santa comes and brings one or two really neat gift(s). When we are ready to move around, we get dressed and head to my Mom and Dad's house for Christmas dinner.

It's not exactly how I did Christmas when I was younger and not exactly Rennie's traditions either but it's comprise and it works perfectly for us.

So my picture is my Christmas tree with gifts under the tree for Mommy, Daddy and Gavin {plus family gifts that haven't gone out yet.} We are finally done Christmas shopping! YEA!!

Day 19: Day in Dallas (11/19)

Grand Prairie, TX a huge flea market near Dallas

Rennie and I spent the day in Dallas doing a little shopping. It was relaxing to be out and about with my hubby. Gavin stayed with Brad and Sharman. I love shopping!

Day 2: Gavin's New Babysitter (11/2)

Gavin got a new babysitter...again.

That makes four baby sitters in less than a year and half. Not a stable environment, however Gavin does well and he is very good at going with the flow. I don't think it affecting him as much as it is Rennie or I.

The new babysitter started yesterday and I already received two picture from her. The most I've received since we started with the sitters. And she has only had Gavin for two days!

Amazing how receiving pictures makes my day. And it makes me think that whoever is watching Gavin is enjoying him as much as we do!

Day 144: Pete is my BFF (10/13)

One of my favorite things is finding new OSU t-shirts. There are so many out there that one I find an uncommon one that I have to have it!!

I found this shirt and I didn't think twice about buying it. I haven't seen anyone wear it before so it was a great shirt and it also makes me smile.

I love fun OSU shirts!

Day 136: Mailbox Planting (10/5)

The first item that we bought especially for the house was two mums to put into the plant holders on each side of the mailbox.

It's so exciting to start worrying about things like lawn care!! The little things in life make me smile!

Day 133: Grande Prairie Purchase (10/2)

While shopping at the flea market, we came across this metal booth and they have all kinds of things made out of metal.

We bought a bronze star and this turtle for the new house. I love buying things to decorate the house. We also bought three large vases to put in the living room. I am so excited to move in! I hope it's soon!

Day 129: OKC Public School Computer (9/28)

Working for OKC Public School (OKCPS) has it advantages. For starters, every teacher gets their own laptop. I had to wait for a bit on mine but I finally receive it earlier this month.

Because I am who I am, I could carry it in the boring black bag so I look around and found this Vera Bradley on Craigslist for a good deal!

I love it! It's so perfect for carrying the laptop everyday because a disadvantage of working for OKCPS is that you can't leave expensive stuff overnight at the school!

Day 109: New Kitchen Table (9/8)

Ever since we found out that we are able to buy the home we have been working toward, we have done nothing but try and figure out how to get nice furniture in without breaking the budget!

We are in the process of building our first home!!

I am so excited! We have been moving around since we have been married. We both decided that The City (Oklahoma City for the people that dont' live in Oklahoma!) was were we wanted to settle down and raise a family.

We kind of just lucked into this amazing home that is almost finished. We got in at just the right time to pick out all the neat stuff like: stain on the wood, paint color, granite colors, tile and carpet! It couldn't of worked out any more perfect.

So in all of this we are trying to find furniture to match. We can't afford to buy everything right way but Rennie and I found out that Mathis Brothers puts furniture on lay-a-way with no interest!! Which is perfect for us because we can't buy it now, no place to store it and we can't buy everything and have the new expense of the house.

So this is the table that we have picked out for the kitchen/dinning area. It's a little different but the shape and benches will had just enough to our place for it not to be so boring!

Day 79: Mommy Necklace (8/9)

Thank you to my wonderful husband for allowing me to pick out my birthday present and wear it early.

Today, we were in OKC doing important things (like job interview, checking out homes, and finding a nanny.) When Rennie suggested we go to James Avery to get my birthday gift.

Instant gratification!! How could I say no?

So I was able to get exactly what I wanted for my birthday and get to wear it early. It was like a two for one!

Rennie did say that he was, "tired of buying jewelry." However, I can happily say, I have all the pieces that I need right now and won't be asking to get anymore, anytime soon. :)
