Why do I always find these things when summer is almost over?! This is just down the road from us at Reno and Morgan. It's a building with four or five large inflatiables and some other fun things to do. Again because the twins are two, I only had to pay about $9 for all of us to play from 10-3. (We only made it to 12:30.) It was fun! At first the twins were a little unsure but after watching Gavin they warmed right up to it and tried everything.
Day 66: Towel Capes (7/30)
After the kids swim in the pool, they come inside to get dried off. I'm not going to lie, my kids don't like to wear cloths. They would rather be naked and if we aren't going any where or some one is coming over, I don't fight it. Whatever floats their boats. So today after getting dried off, they turned their towels into superhero capes. They all ran around the living rooms for a while yelling and acting like heroes with capes. Eisley didn't understand but because everyone was wearing a towel and running then Eisley had to join in. It made me just stop and take it all in. When will they grow out of this stage? I hope not soon.
Day 65: Wes' Allergies (7/29)
When Wes was young, he had all these skin problems. Looking back I fell so bad, it was all preventable if we just kept him away from peanuts. Today Wes had some contact with nuts some time during his day and this is the result. Poor baby. He takes it like a champ though. I think that's what breaks my heart the most.
Day 64: Cleaning the Toy Box (7/28)
Why oh why do I do this to myself? I usually wait until they are all asleep to clean the toy box out but I decided to just go all in today while they were around. I immediately regretted my decision and had to finish it up when they went to nap.
Day 63: WWE Bound (7/27)
These boys are so excited! They get to go watch some WWE wrestling tonight at the Cheasepeak Arena. They meet PopPop in downtown for dinner and then the four of them went to watch wrestling. Gavin and Wes both loved it so much. Wes was so excited to see John Cena. Gavin has always enjoyed it and now we have added Wes to the group. Poor Wes fell asleep in his seat around 9 pm and slept through a lot of the action. :)
Day 62: Reunited! (7/26)
We made it home to these kids. I LOVED my vacation and the time I was able to spend with just Rennie, however I was so excited to come home to these silly kids!
Day 61: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/25)
On our last day, we spent it from around 9 to 5 on the beach. We got in and out of the ocean. Rennie tried paddle boarding for the first time and we bought new hats. We ordered drinks and ate lunch out on the beach. Rennie and I have different thoughts on how vacation is supposed to be spent. The first days we did things and explored and the last day we sat on the beach and did nothing. Can you guess who likes to do things and who likes to lay around?!
Day 60: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/24)
Today, we took a city and tropical tour of Puerto Vallarta. We went into the old part of Puerto Vallarta, took shots at a tequila distillery and ate a fresh, seafood lunch off the river. It was so neat to explore a foreign city.
Day 59: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/23)
Today, we did an excursion with Vallarta Adventures. We did the Extreme Adventure with zip-lines, ATVs, and a water slide. It was so much fun! An experience, we will never forget!!
Day 58: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/22)
We explored our surroundings today. We have a hotel down on at the beach. Rennie also go to parasail right off the beach outside our hotel. They took him out into the ocean and over the city. We also explored downtown Puerto Vallarta. They have a flea market and a boardwalk. It started raining then so we don't have any pictures. It's a wonderful place to visit.
Day 57: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (7/21)
Today, we flew out of OKC and landed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for five days... without kids. As soon as we landed we ate lunch at the hotel. It's a good way to start off a vacation.
Day 55: Mornings by the Pool (7/19)
Mornings are usually spent around the pool. I don't think I can really tell people how much time we spend outside in the pool. It amazes me actually! The kids really love it. Also whenever we are outside, our dog Bella loves to join in. She hasn't made it into the pool yet but she watches the kids to make sure they are doing what they are supposed too.
Day 54: TWINS! (7/18)
This time three years ago, we found out that we were having girl/boy twins. We knew that we were having twins but we didn't know their genders. I love timehop. It's nice to see the past things I've posted. I know that one day my kids will read this blog and see all the things we did together and my thoughts. I like that.
I can't believe three years ago we found out we were having girl/boy twins. We didn't know what we were in for but I wouldn't change it. It's been an amazing experience so far, Rallie and Wes are two of our greatest blessings! Sometimes I look at them and think, we're doing it: TWINS!!
Day 53: True Value Tech (7/17)
The other day, my dad called me and said he needed me to create something for their new hardware store, True Value. After working for years at McDonald's my parents thought they needed to start thinking of retirement. If you know anything about my parents dad, you know that change isn't his thing. He's talked about doing similar things but never buckled down to get it done. However, this time they did it!! They bought the hardware store in Stroud. They've learned to manage it and run it daily. They took over this summer, starting June 1st.
On August 1st, they are planning a grand reopening party. Dad wanted some things created to put in the paper. He called me to help. I'm good on computers. It doesn't take me long to figure something out or create needed documents. I would like to take a coding class that's another post! So whenever my parents need some help with technology they call me. I enjoy it! I feel involved. Dad had me create the above postcard for the paper.
I brought the twins and Sami with me to Stroud. They love being at the store. For my fee, I required dinner out. Mom took us to the new Chinese restaurant on Main street. Rallie never left Nana's side.
If your on Facebook and haven't yet, you need to like: Stroud True Value.
Day 52: Random Pictures I Find (7/16)
Sometimes when I look in my pictures, I find lots and lots of random pictures. I never know who taking the pictures until I see who else is in them. This time Gavin took some nice pictures around the house. He takes the best. When either on of the twins gets a hold of my phone and take pictures, I get a lot of floor or close up of clothes or blankets. It's like a little treasure each time.
Day 51: Backyard! (7/15)
Well after a year of working on the backyard, Rennie can officially say that the deck and pool area are mostly done. He's done an amazing job! We are outside most days and as you know the kids are always in the pool. Don't you worry though there is still plenty for Rennie to work on in the back yard but I wanted to take a moment to show off all the hard work he has done.
Day 50: Donuts (7/14)
In our house, if you only eat the top of a chocolate donut, you think you are allowed to ask for another donut because the rest of the donut doesn't count.
Day 49: New Frozen Earrings (7/13)
Rallie loves Frozen! What little girl doesn't? However, she calls it Door because in the song "love is an open DOOOR!" she wasn't talking yet but door was easy to say, so it suck. We went to the mall yesterday and into Claire's for new earrings. We got to packs of colorful studs but Daddy found these Frozen earrings and Rallie loved them. Out of Anna and Elsa, she chose to wear Anna first. They are quite a bit larger than her normal size earrings we put in her. She loves them!
Day 48: Sami's Wedding Pictures (7/12)
Sami's wedding pictures came in today. I really enjoyed looking at them. When she published them, I looked through twice and then I had to FaceTime her so I could talk about them! They were wonderful. She comes over next Tuesday and we will go through them again together. How exciting!
Day 47: Uber (7/11)
Over the summer I always say I am going to get a part time job. This is the first time I actually did. Rennie and I both Uber. Ubering is kind of like driving a taxi. We have an app that we open anytime we want to work and riders around OKC and it's suburbs can ping (which means to request a ride) us and we drive to their location pick them up and take them to their requested destination. We use our suburban, so we are able to take larger groups which makes us more money. You read all about Uber at https://www.uber.com. It's a lot of fun and makes us a nice bit of extra money over the summer.
I picked up Allisha tonight. She's the one that taught us about Uber when we were down in Austin for Sam's bachelorette party. I enjoyed it!!
Day 46: Family Pictures (7/10)
Today, we took family pictures!! I loved how they turned out. We went downtown and met April Belt there early Friday morning. April is a friend from Mayfield. The kids did well and so far all I've seen is the previews but I'm very excited to see the rest!
Day 45: Spilled Cereal (7/9)
How does this happen to me? The cereal was on the counter and everyone was nicely playing. I noticed I haven't seen Rallie in a bit and I walk to see that her door is closed and it's very quiet. I open the door to see her quietly eating Fruit Loops off the carpet. She dumped the entire bag and was quite happy with herself!
Day 44: EngageOK (7/8)
Today, Samantha and I attended the EngageOK professional development in OKC. We heard Joy Hofmister talk and attended two sessions today. Strategies to Engage and Motivation Students and and Engaging Students with Technology. It's a nice way to ease into August and nice to learn about new things over the summer.
In addition, this picture also shows the great jean vest I got at Target on sale for $15 yesterday! Score!!
Day 43: The Last Baby (7/7)
Eisley hardly ever just sits with me and lets me hold her. So when she fell asleep on my chest I was ecstatic! I enjoyed it so much, my last baby. So many first lasts. Its so sad to have these first lasts. This is part of an article that I read one day and it fit us so perfectly. It's something I wanted to cherish and be reminded of at times. I found the following article at Scary Mom: The Joy and Sadness of the Last Baby. It's written by The Biff and her husband's blog is Almost Coherent Parent.
The Joy and Sadness of the Last Baby
As she's the fourth child, that's enough time to emerge from the newborn fog and for life to settle into the new normal. It's also enough time to reflect on the enormity of this finality for our family, for she is the last one.In fact, she's the bonus one. When envisioning our family, I always saw three kids. I wrapped my mind around three college tuitions; I thought about how we'd divide and conquer three simultaneous extracurricular activities, and we bought our house in part because it had a sharing room, to be occupied by the two siblings of the same gender. Three, we were going to have three. That is, until we had a fourth. While I absolutely adore our newest little ball of baby, I can't pretend that she wasn't a bit of a surprise. So as soon as we found out about her, hubby went and got snipped so that we would never be surprised again. Meaning that we headed into her babyhood fully knowing that there would be no more. Which is why it surprises me that I'm having such a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she is the last one.The last one whose flutter kicks I'll feel inside my belly. The last one whose milky sweetness I'll breathe in, in the middle of the night. The last one who will be absolutely content to be carried around strapped to my chest in the Moby carrier. The last one we'll ever get to see develop from a squishy helpless baby meatloaf into a full-fledged person. Our oldest is young enough that there are many firsts still waiting for us. We have yet to send a child to high school or on a first date. First kisses and first breakups are still (hopefully far) in our future.College, marriage and grandchildren seem so distant I can't even think about them yet. But this is also the end of firsts. The last first smile. The last first words. The last first steps. This day had to come eventually; we can't keep having babies endlessly. But I always imagined that when we got here, I'd look at my family and feel "done." As it is, I could easily see one or two more smiles there. If it were an option logistically, financially, and health-wise, I'd keep having babies forever. But alas, it is not, so this is it.After this baby, we'll retire our crib and high chair. Bottles, sippy cups and tummy time mats will get put away for good. She'll be the last to ride in a stroller, the last to need a carseat, the last to head off to school. She is taking us to the next stage. Our lives are going to change dramatically as this little one grows up.There will be a time without diapers. There will be a time when every member of our household can put on their own shoes and get themselves into the car. There will be a time when everyone's in school. And eventually, there will be a time when they won't need us anymore. My head knows this is the right decision for our family, but my heart isn't quite on board yet. So here I am, in tears, mourning the end. Because although we are still at the beginning of her life, we are also at an end. For her firsts are our lasts, and the end of something so wonderful is sad.
Day 42: My Super Heroes (7/6)
This picture makes me smile! Everyone is very into super heroes, they usually are but we just discovered the movie, The Incredibles. They love it. So when they got these silly glasses in a wacky pack meal, they went nuts!! They have been playing super heroes all morning. Eisley does where her glasses but she has this thing when I take a picture she does the opposite of what I'm asking...
I told them all to be super heroes and these are the poses I got. LOVE IT!!
Day 41: Lunches (7/5)
I can't explain the amount of food we use daily. It's going to be even crazier as they grow! I can't even imagine.
Day 40: Happy 4th of July (7/4)
This year we were able to host the 4th of July party. My mom, dad, Molly and her boys, Aunt Shanda, Uncle Greg, Ava, and Faye with Garvis and Sami coming in later, were all able to make it to our house to celebrate.
On my phone, most of my pictures were only of Eisley! I do have video of my other kids celebrating but only pictures of Eisley. I did steal a picture from Aunt Shanda of most of us in the pool. It was a nice day to visit and swim. Later, with Aunt Sami and Uncle Garvis, we shot off some fireworks in our backyard. Perfect way to end the day.
