Day 31: Visiting Tree (1/31)

One of my friends had twins and I saw this sitting in their twins room when we came to visit and I loved the idea. So I made one of my own. I had the canvas and I went to Hobby Lobby and bought two Sharpie paint pens {brown and blue} and then three stamp pads.

A few weeks before the babies were born I drew the tree on the canvas. I used my laptop and a projector and traced it from a tree I liked on the internet. I waited to add the names and the date until the day before the twins were scheduled to come.

As people visited us in the hospital and the first weeks at home, we had them add their finger prints to the tree. They also signed their name. I choose orange, red and yellow as the leaf colors because the babies were born during the season when leaves are falling off the trees. {My friend had green leaves but her twins were born in the spring.}

I have this hung up in the babies room and I love the way it turned out!

Day 30: Peanut Butter Cupcakes (1/30)

Rennie brought home The Cupcake Bible for me. It was a wonderful surprise. After about two weeks, he came up to me and said, "I brought home this fancy cupcake book. When do I get a fancy cupcake?" I told him to pick one and of course he chose the peanut butter cupcake. It was so simple and even though peanut butter would not have been my first choice, they are really good. I love baking.

Day 29: Personalized Blocks (1/29)

My Aunt Lisa, Uncle Rick, Shae and Jill are so sweet to us! With Gavin they gave us a block much like these and then when the twins were born they sent us too more. I love them so much. They are the cutest things and the most simplest idea for a wonderful keepsake.

Day 28: Only 2 More Weeks (1/28)

Only two more weeks with these precious babies and then it's back to work. :(

Day 27: First Smile {Rallie} (1/27)

My baby girl is smiling at me! Rallie's smile looks a lot like a laugh and it's the cutest thing ever. She melts my heart. All three of my babies do!

Day 26: Iced Coffee (1/26)

I LOVE my Keurig. I got it for my 30th {!!} birthday and have used it almost everyday since then. I love the English Breakfast Tea, the Donut Shop coffee and I found this French Vanilla Ice coffee. It's brewed over ice and I add milk and sweetener and I sip on it all day. Now if only I could find it a Carmel Iced coffee I would be in heaven!!

Day 25: PlayZone (1/25)

We went to the PlayZone tonight. Gavin LOVED it and has been asking to go back every hour. We took the twins to Mese and BR's house and spent some quality time with our little man.

Day 24: Matching Twins (1/24)

Even though they aren't identical, I really like dressing them to "match." Same jammies, different colors. No one but Rennie and I will see this but it's still fun to do. I have to find something to entertain me otherwise all I would be doing is working at home.

Day 23: Lounging Around (1/23)

Being home all day with the twins, I've been keeping Gavin with me. Especially with the flu going around his daycare; I do not need that here! He is such a helper and so independant. His personality is developing and he makes his own decisions and does what he wants. It's so fun to watch my first little baby grow into a little boy. He picked up this type of lounging from his daddy. :)

Day 22: Gavin the Photographer (1/22)

Found these lovely photos on my phone after taking a shower this morning. What a lovely surprise! Gavin is such a photographer. The tv picture is of Bubble Guppies one of his favorite tv shows right now. I love the picture of Rallie, my milky mouth baby!! Such fun at my house.

Day 21: Weight Loss {Please!} (1/21)

I was released from the doctors last week and have taken getting back to a reasonable weight a little serious. My real goal is to play outfield again in softball and be fast and able.

So to be honest my weight before I got pregnant with the twins was {get ready!} 215 lb and then throughout my pregnancy I lost fatty weight and gained baby weight bar the end if pregnancy I was weighting in at 225 lb. After I gave birth to Wes & Rallie who weighted 14 lb and 3 oz together, I walked out of the hospital at 196 lb. My last doctor's appointment I was weighting in at 188 lb.

My goal is to get down to the low 160s so I want to lose a good 20-30 lbs. I started going to a gym and am lifting weights and doing some cardo. They have classes and am excited to try those out.

I only put this on my blog so that I can be accountable for my {hopeful} weight loss.

Day 20: Date Night & New Hair (1/20)

Rennie and I got a night out together. We went to watch two movies: Gangster Squad and Zero Dark Thirty. This was the longest I've been away from the twins since they were born! I enjoyed it but I was very ready to get back to mg babies.

I also changed up my hair. I've always wanted to go dark and I finally just did it. I love it and am glad I took the chance.

I am so glad that tomorrow is MLK day and Rennie will have the day off.

Day 19: Tiny Feet (1/19)

I can't help taking pictures of Rallie's feet! They are so tiny and wonderful. I love her little shoes, so dang cute.

Day 18: First Smile {Wes} (1/18)

Wes smiled at me for the first time today. I love watching this little boy grow and learn. His personality is developing everyday and he is a joy to be around.

The same can definitely be said for Rallie. It's crazy how different they are and it's hard not to compare the two of them. I enjoy their differences and it's so amazing to watch two babies grow and develop differently.

I am so lucky!

Day 17: My Babies (1/17)

I love taking pictures! I forgot how fun doing this blog can be! I find myself getting irritated when I do something or go somewhere but forget to "document" it with a picture but I just have to get back in the grove of it.

We received so many gifts from people and I sent out thank you notes but I love sending pictures of Gavin or the twins playing/wearing to the givers.

So when I was putting the Little Brother jammies on Wes; I decided to put the matching pair on Rallie. I put that picture on Instagram tagging the Grahams {the gift givers} so that they were sure to see it.

Anyway, when I start to take pictures of the twins Gavin always wants to be included, hence my second picture. I absolutely love this picture! Everyone's looking at the camera and looks really good. WONDERFUL!!

Day 16: Crock-pot Chicken (1/16)

Staying home has given me the chance to be a stay at home mom for a bit {something that I would like to do but alas...} I take care of my babies, done laundry and dishes, kept the house organized and cooked dinner.

Today I decided to repeat a crock-pot meal that Rennie and I have enjoyed. It's Swiss Cheese Chicken. I started it today around 11 and it will be done in 8 hours around 7 tonight.

I have enjoyed the stay at home duties and cooking dinner has been fun. I honestly thought that's what I would hate but have enjoyed it most {besides being with my babies!}

Day 15: Steam Room (1/15)

The babies have been stuffed up and having trouble breathing. We don't have a humidifier {yet!} but I decided to turn on the shower and use it as a steam room.

They loved it!! And were upset when we finished but it definitely helped with the stuffiness.

Day 13: Grip on the Paci (1/13)

Wes is learning to love his paci. I don't mind that it helps him to calm himself either. Let's see if this is a passing fad or he will take to it.

Day 12: Visiting Stroud (1/12)

My dad sent me a text Friday morning, "Ribs for dinner tonight. You coming?" So I decided that I would pack up the twins and head to Stroud to eat dinner and stay the night. {Rennie and Gavin had plans to go to a Bedlam basketball game in Norman today. See pictures below.} This was the first night that it would be just me and the twins. I texted my mom and said that I would only come if she could plan on helping me through the night. Of course, she said yes.

Sami and Garvis were there and we enjoyed a relaxing weekend. I ended up staying Saturday night {not my plans} because of raining sleet and I didn't want to drive home in it. The divide and conquer nightly routine that we have going is a life saver and didn't realize this until I stayed at Stroud. The first night was exhausting and the second night wasn't so bad but it's much better the way we spend our nights at home.

Day 11: Free Formula (1/11)

All you have to do is ask your pediatrician for free samples at your doctor's appointment. Also you can ask the company for a free case as a discount for twins. They want you to get hooked so that you continue using their product. They also send free coupons and sample sizes in the mail.

Day 10: Feeding All Day (1/10)

One of my creative ways to feed two very hungry babies at the same time.

Day 9: Scout & Violet (1/9)

Meet Scout and Violet, they were Rallie and Wes' Christmas present from Santa. They are great for a couple of minutes of free time. They play lullabies and white noise sounds. They also light up and keep the babies attention for about two minutes. Hopefully the older they get the more useful Scout and Violet will be. :)

Day 8: Stay at Home Mom Dinner (1/8)

Not only did I take care of Gavin and the twins all day, but I also clean and sometimes cook dinner. I am super mom! I wish I could do this as a job and not go back to work.

Day 7: One Month Dr Visit (1/7)

Just in case you can't read the stickers:

Rallie                    Wes
9 lb 4 oz                10 lb
22 1/4 in.               22 1/2 in.

My babies are both in the 50th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. They are growing so big!

Day 5: Family Christmas Dinner Out (1/5)

My parents decided last year that instead of gifts for us and our others, they were just going to take us all out for drinks and dinner.

This year we went to Bonefish Grill in Tulsa. It was delicious! It's always so much fun to spend time with my family.

Day 4: Window Watching (1/4)

This will probably become a morning routine! Rennie and I came up with a "divide and conquer" plan to get sleep at night. He takes a baby and goes to the futon in the office and I keep the other baby. This way we are getting up about three or four times a night instead of six or seven. The twins tend to wake each other up and are on different schedules. Plus even if we kept them together, we would still be woken up each time a baby awakes. It's not the ideal situation but it's working.

In the morning, I feed the baby that wasn't with me through the night and then the other baby gets a new bottle. After they are content, they like to lay and look out the window. Rallie usually makes her way over to Wes and touches him in some way. It's so adorable! I don't know how she does it.

Day 3: Baby Toys Make a Comeback (1/3)

Baby toys are making starting to litter the living room floor. We brought this out today and laid the twins in it. They were ok with it for a bit but got bored quickly. Actually, Gavin enjoyed it more. He played with it for most of the night and even made it into a tent. Silly boy.

Day 2: Dressed and Swinging (1/2)

Rennie and Gavin spent some time together this morning before Rennie goes back to work. We plan on meeting after their breakfast to go to the mall together. It was my job to get the babies ready. I was able to bath and dress both babies and put them in the swing and get ready myself. It's the little things that I enjoy. :)

Day 1: Superheros (1/1)

So here I am again!! This will be the third time that I begin this blog. I figured that starting it on the new year will give me a new year's resolution to continue this throughout the year. Also, I would like some of the twins in my blog when I finally say, "OK, I am really done with this. Let's make a book." Gavin has dominated our lives the last three years that it's only fair to include the babies in the things that made up our life before they entered it.

I am going to start this blog with the expectations that everyone knows what has occurred since I have stopped blogging. We just found out we were pregnant with twins and figuring out how our lives would change.  We had no idea!! Our babies are wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing.

I am sure that this blog will now be dominated by the Rallie, Wes and their pictures so I figured I would give my first day to Gavin. He is a wonderful big brother and tells his new sister and brother daily that he loves them. However, he is struggling with the loss of attention and my heart breaks for him daily. He is a strong, little boy and is so fun and creative. I love him and his personality so much.

Today, Gavin is MY superhero.
